Matt 'thew' Culpepper - Drummer Matt was born in Gloucestershire and spent his early childhood hitting things with sticks, needless to say things haven’t changed much. With both parents musicians, Matt followed in their footsteps to become a talented drummer with the fortune to excel in all things music and technical. He has travelled the world playing drums, providing studio, stage and technical support and tour management with many recording artists, Robert Plant, Soul to Soul and EMF to drop but a few. His real love however is his drum kit, the Tama Starclassic Bubinga. Matt is happiest when he has that zoned out look that all drummers get when its all in the pocket. He has played in a wide variety of bands, gaining experience across many different styles of music, he writes and produces music and also material for other artists. Matt’s musical influences stem from childhood listening to artists like Little feat, The Alex Harvey Band, The Police and Genesis/Peter Gabriel. His current influences are wide and varied and more recently loving the writing ability of John Mayer, Alicia Keys and The Foo Fighters. Matt has worked closely with Yvie on their music project Yve Matthews for many years and joined The Kitchen shortly after Yvie in late 2007, bringing his optimism, passion for perfection and unlimited technical ability, as well as some serious noise!!!
