Andy Ward - Guitar & Vocals Andy has been playing guitar since he was seven. Much of the time since then has been spent playing with Al our other founder member. Their first band, a folk-rock fusion called ‘Salty Dog’, heralded a long and varied career behind the microphone in many transformations of that early combo both in style and personnel. His influences are varied; borrowing much from bands like The Eagles, rock legends like The Rolling Stones and Jethro Tull right through to singer song writing greats; Rickie Lee Jones and Joni Mitchell. Andy plays a Gibson S.G. and a custom Ovation twelve string as well as making a massive contribution with his brilliant backing vocals. He has been involved with ‘The Kitchen’ since its inception and has never once failed to rise to the wide-ranging challenges each metamorphosis has thrown at him over a twenty year period. He now works tirelessly with Matt to ensure that all technical aspects of band life are covered and that all the equipment is loved and looked after. The band is all deeply indebted to his constancy and consistency; a real team player they could not do without.
